Collection: Dehydrated Skin

Hydration is not just a surface-level issue. Dehydrated skin can look:

Tight, uncomfortable (even after moisturising)
Fine lines that appear more visible or “crepey”
Dull, flat complexion
Makeup sitting poorly or separating
Oiliness and dehydration at the same time
Skin that feels reactive, inconsistent or unpredictable

Does this sound like your skin?

If yes, you’re not alone - and restoring hydrated happy skin is possible.

With over 25 years of experience treating dehydrated skin, I’ve learned that true hydration isn’t about surface moisture, but about restoring the skin’s ability to retain water and function optimally. ~ Yasmine x

Dehydrated Skin

Over 60% of Australians believe they have sensitive skin…but in clinic, I see something very different.

Most skin isn’t sensitive, it’s sensitised from dehydration.

Hydration is not a surface-level issue. It’s what determines how your skin functions.

Water is life. Water is what:

  1. Plumps your skin cells
  2. Allows oils to move freely instead of becoming trapped and blocked
  3. Enables active ingredients to penetrate and perform

When your skin is dehydrated, everything slows down, becomes congested, or starts to react.

This is why hydration is the linchpin of healthy skin - it can either support your results… or completely block them.

If you don’t correct dehydration first, you won’t get results - no matter what skin concern you have.

Dehydrated skin doesn’t just feel dry, it becomes reactive, unpredictable, and harder to treat.
Left untreated, dehydration leads to:

  • Sensitised, reactive skin
  • Increased inflammation
  • Poor product tolerance
  • Slower, inconsistent results

Drinking water won't hydrate your skin but the LumeCeuticals Skin System will.

Drinking water is important for your overall health - but it does not hydrate your skin in the way you think. It doesn’t:

  • Replenish water within skin cells
  • Prevent water loss from the skin
  • Repair your barrier

Topical hydration is essential to actually correct dehydration at a skin level.

Using intelligently formulated cosmeceutical products enriched with potent anti-inflammatories, triple-weighted hyaluronic acid, biomimetic peptides, bioactive nutrients and moisture-locking fatty acids, we can:

  • Repair the skins barrier
  • Correct dehydration
  • Relieve itching and discomfort
  • Reduce redness and inflammation
  • Support recovery and build resilience
  • Plump and smooth fine lines

If your skin isn’t functioning properly - this is where you start, with The Hydration Reset.

"Pigmentation does not appear overnight - and it doesn’t disappear overnight either. With consistent use of corrective ingredients, skin can gradually become clearer, brighter and more even in tone."

"Hydration isn’t optional and everyone's skin needs it. It’s what keeps your skin functioning properly while you’re correcting dysfunction."

"If you’d like to keep triggering pigmentation and undoing your results… skip your SPF."

Pigmentation Skin FAQs

I have sensitive skin and pigmentation, what products should I start with?

Sensitive skin always needs to be addressed before pigmentation.

Phase 1 is designed for sensitive skin, however I recommend introducing the night products gradually, allowing your skin to climatise and strengthen in between.

MORNING ☼
Emulsify → Fade→ Vitality → SPF

NIGHT ☾
Emulsify → Renew .25% / Accelerate → Vitality / Replenish

I also recommend for sensitive skins Replenish hybrid face oil to soothe, rebuild and protect the skin barrier.

Do I repurchase the same skincare again?

Not necessarily. This system is designed that you could progress from Phase 1 to Phase 2, if your skin has responded with no irritation, however I always recommend reaching out to me via email to have a quick chat about how we can elevate your routine and ensure it doesn't become stagnant.

Your skin loves a challenge and adapts to change really well.

What is melasma and why does it happen?

Melasma is a deeper form of pigmentation caused by hormonal changes, such as pregnancy, contraception or menopause.

It typically appears as symmetrical patches on the cheeks, forehead or upper lip and can be more challenging to treat than surface pigmentation.

I've found that a combined approach with clinical treatments and skincare works best.

Don't forget to use Fade every morning and night and Sunscreen in the morning.

Why do I get dark marks after breakouts?

This is known as post-inflammatory pigmentation.

After acne, irritation or skin trauma, the skin can produce excess melanin (pigment) during the healing process, leaving behind dark marks once the breakout has resolved.

Consistency with a tyrosinase inhibitor plus anti-inflammatory actives work best.

I recommend using Fade morning and night plus Accelerate at night.

How long before I see results?

Pigmentation takes time to fade, but you'll notice skin luminosity and brightness instantly.

With consistent use of corrective skincare and daily sun protection, you can expect gradual improvement in skin clarity and overall tone.

The skin renewal cycle can take 6 to 12 weeks, which is where consistency matters and long term changes take effect.

Can pollution and ageing cause pigmentation?

Yes, environmental stress, oxidative damage and cumulative sun exposure can gradually trigger pigmentation over time.

This often shows up as uneven skin tone, dullness or patchy discolouration.

Do I really need to wear SPF when treating pigmentation?

Comprehensive sun protection is your best bet to combat sun damage.

Slip on covering clothing, Slop on SPF30+ sunscreen, Slap on a hat, Seek shade, and Slide on sunglasses.

Without protection, UV exposure continues to stimulate melanin production, making pigmentation harder to treat and easier to trigger again.
