Hi, I'm Yasmine; Cosmetic Dermal Clinician, ingredient nerd, mother, wife, skin whisperer, co-founder of The Aesthetic Lounge, GSD Skincare and Must-Have Skincare, and now founder of LumeCeuticals. I'm 40-something (no, I can’t give away all my secrets), and I’ve been immersed in skin for over two decades.
When I began my journey, my skin told a very different story - reactive, stripped, inflamed, covered in rosacea, melasma, freckles and sun damage (I do love the outdoors). But with consistency, the right treatments, and evidence-based cosmeceutical skincare, those skin woes are now a distant memory.
My philosophy. I believe in looking good for your age and not trying to look another age.
From Sharks To Skin
A Very Scientific Detour
I’ve always loved animals and science. At 10, I was obsessed with Jacques Cousteau documentaries, so naturally, I pursued Marine Biology after graduating in 2000. But dissecting sharks wasn’t for me. Then came a brief foray into cheffing, I learnt a lot but discovered I preferred cooking for friends, not in high-pressure kitchens. As I was finding my career path, an opportunity presented in massage therapy - my mum always said I had “magic hands” - which then led me into beauty therapy.
After a few years, I became disillusioned by the short-term results of beauty treatments. That’s when I found Dermal Therapies. A potential employer saw something in me, hired me instantaneously, and that was the beginning of my passion in helping people to transform their skin.
I went on to earn my qualifications in Cosmetic Dermal Therapies, achieved the highest industry recognition, mentored, trained and assessed aspiring Dermal Therapists, and co-ran a thriving clinic in Melbourne for 13 years.
Transforming skin and witnessing the emotional shift in my clients became my why.
How Lockdowns Launched
A Skincare Revolution
As a Dermal Therapist (a.k.a. badass skin nerd), I specialised in in-clinic treatments - lasers, peels, and advanced modalities to rapidly undo years of skin damage. At The Aesthetic Lounge, most of our clients were on monthly memberships, coming in like clockwork for powerful skin treatments - and the results were next-level.
But then... COVID.
Over 250 days of lockdown. No treatments. No machines.
So, we pivoted.
My business partner and I started weekly live facial tutorials for our members. We guided them in applying their skincare like pros - from layering techniques to active combinations. Slowly, their routines started looking more like mine (yes, I use 12 products in the morning and 5 at night). Something wild happened… Their skin transformed.
When clinics reopened, I was floored by the results. My clients’ skin had improved dramatically from skincare alone. That’s when everything changed. From that point forward, if you wanted skin treatments at our clinic, you needed to be on the right skincare too - non-negotiable.
Then came Lockdown 2.0 - and this time, we started building something even bigger. We’d always cherry-picked the best products from different brands (because no single brand had it all). But with prices skyrocketing and gaps in performance, we decided to formulate our own.
We spent two years researching and developing our first six products. Each one rigorously tested on ourselves, our clients, and our families. Fast-forward four years and we’ve launched 21 clinical-grade skincare products - each one delivering the kind of results we once thought only treatments could provide.

After 13 incredible years, my business partner and I chose to follow our own paths. For me, the choice was clear. I’m a skin therapist, through and through.
I’m passionate about results-driven skincare and treatments that truly transform - not just skin, but confidence.
So GSD Skincare evolved - and LumeCeuticals was born.
